Rashida Tlaib has been criticized due to her proposal in favor of Palestine. Her proposal was strongly condemning by the several House Republicans.
Marjorie Taylor Greene pushed to introduce the resolution, which was intended to reprimand the Democratic Representative for her handling of the Israel-Hamas conflict.
Several of her coworkers, including Representatives Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Ritchie Torres, and Josh Gottheimer, have criticized Tlaib, an outspoken opponent of Israel.
Rashida Tlaib was one of the members of the congressional resolution that was introduced by US legislators last month that called for “an immediate de-escalation and ceasefire in Israel and occupied Palestine.
The suggested motion said that all human life is precious and that it is against international humanitarian law to attack civilians due to their faith or ethnicity.
Rashida Tlaib criticized violence on all fronts, but she has also charged Israel with imposing “apartheid” in Gaza and carrying out “genocide” on the Palestinian people.
The bloodiest Palestinian militant attack against Israel in the past was spearheaded by Hamas on October 7. Later that year, Israel began its most intense bombings on Gaza, which were followed by ground operations. As to the Associated Press, which quoted the Health Ministry in Gaza, which is run by Hamas, as of Thursday, the number of Palestinian deaths had surpassed 7,300. The Israeli authorities told the AP that during the Hamas incursion, more than 1,400 people died in Israel.

According to Greene, Rashida Tlaib was charged with antisemitic action, sympathizing with terrorist organizations and leading an insurrection at the United States Capitol Complex, in reference to a demonstration she addressed at on October 18 at the Capitol that called for a ceasefire.
One of the two Muslims in Congress, Tlaib, was the subject of a censure motion sponsored by Greene last week. The motion charges Rashida Tlaib of engaging in “antisemitic activity” after she raised concern about America’s continued support of Israel in its cruel conflict with Hamas in the wake of the latter’s fatal surprise attack on October 7.

The House can force votes on both of the censure resolutions by using a procedural device known as “privileged,” which allows legislators to sidestep committees and leadership. As the stigma connected with privileged resolutions has diminished, more legislators are using the strategy.
In 2021, Republican Representative Paul Gosar of Arizona received criticism for tweeting an animated clip showing him striking Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York with a sword. Furthermore, substantial financial and political wrongdoing led to the 2010 censure of Democratic Representative Charlie Rangel of New York.
In the past few years, the House has also made attempts to remove members from their assigned committees as a kind of punishment for their statements and deeds.
The other Muslim member of Congress, Democratic Congresswoman Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, resigned her committee assignment on foreign affairs earlier this year because of her remarks on Israel.
Furthermore, Greene suffered by Democrats in the majority in 2021 when they conducted a vote that eliminated all her committee assignments because of her propagation of violent and bigoted conspiracy theories.
