The apparent passing of Russian anti-corruption leader Alexei Navalny, according to Joe Biden on Friday, has increased the urgency for Congress to approve tens of billions of dollars in aid for Ukraine.

The US president said, “I hope to God it helps,” to urge US senators to give additional aid to Ukraine, placing all responsibility for Navalny’s death at Vladimir Putin’s feet.

In reference to the House of Representatives, Biden stated that “history is watching” them since they had not yet acted on a Senate-passed plan that would provide $60 billion in military aid to Ukraine, whose troops, according to US authorities, are running out of vital ammunition on the front lines.

According to Biden, the inability to assist Ukraine during this crucial time will never be forgotten. “And time is running out. This needs to take place. Right now, we must assist.

In addition, he attacked House Republicans for allowing the legislature to adjourn for two weeks without taking any action on the financing for Ukraine.

“What are they contemplating? My God,” remarked Biden. “This is strange, and it’s just fueling everyone’s worry—not panic, but genuine worry—about the United States acting as a responsible ally.” Prominent Republicans expressed sorrow over Navalny’s demise as well, charging those in their own party for appearing to appease the Russian leader.

“Apologists for Putin have no place in the Republican party. Mike Pence, the former vice president, posted on social media, “RIP, Alexey Navalny.”

Pence went on, saying, “Putin is a war criminal and only understands strength.” He also encouraged Congress to approve legislation assisting Ukraine and to “set aside the politics of the moment.”

Republicans who have offered cautious support to the Russian president have also come under fire from Senator Thom Tillis of North Carolina.

Putin’s History

“Putin is a violent, suspicious autocrat. History will not be kind to Americans who defend Putin and extol the virtues of the autocratic Russian government. History will also not be kind to American leaders who choose to remain silent out of concern for the reaction of internet pundits.

It appears that the two guys were alluding to Republicans who have impeded the approval of funding for Ukraine in recent weeks.
Senator Ron Johnson, a Republican, reportedly changed his mind last week and voted against the aid after seeing Vladimir Putin’s interview with Tucker Carlson. Johnson described his interview with the former Fox News presenter as “very interesting,” adding that “an awful lot of what Vladimir Putin said was right.

Others, such as Louisiana Republican congressman Clay Higgins, a member of the House Freedom caucus, have publicly shown their appreciation for the Russian president lately.

“Putin is a determined, intelligent individual who consistently projects sincerity in his thoughts. Higgins has stated, “I may not believe what he says, but I know he believes what he says,” when you leave a conversation with him.

During his speech on Friday, Biden stated that the House of Representatives is being watched by history and that failing to assist Ukraine during this crucial time will never be forgotten. It will be recorded in the annals of time. The time is running out, and it’s consequential. This needs to take place. Right now, we must assist.

The Republican congressman Michael McCaul, the head of the foreign affairs committee, said: “If confirmed, the death of Alexei Navalny is a tragedy,” even though none of the leaders released statements about Navalny right away. He spoke up for a better Russia in the face of Putin’s homicidal regime’s cruelty and corruption. This outrage needs to be held accountable to the Kremlin.
