Israel has urged the 1.1 million residents living in Gaza’s north to leave within 24 hours as a humanitarian move in order to prevent civilian deaths ahead of the military’s reaction to Hamas terrorist strikes.

On Friday morning, Israel Defense Forces spokesman Jonathan Conricus published the message he alleged was conveyed to Gaza residents on X, the new name of Twitter.

According to Conricus, the IDF asks for the removal of all people from Gaza City from their homes southwards for their own security and safety and for them to relocate to the area south of the Wadi Gaza, the river Gaza, as seen on the map.

He added that advising people to relocate south of the river clarifies and understands the directions for everyone, regardless of whether they have a map or not.

Conricus stated that the warning to evacuate was for safety reasons and that residents would be unable to return to Gaza City until further announcements clear the region. He also warned against approaching the Israeli security line.

The UN said it acquired an announcement from Israel issuing the 24-hour departure alert, and Conricus verified contacts with the UN.

According to a foreign source, Hamas is blocking Palestinians from fleeing regions hit by Israeli airstrikes. Yingst said in a live video Friday morning that a senior official with the terrorist group told him escape is “technically unattainable.”

In order to employ unarmed people as human shields, Hamas operates out of Gaza City in tunnels beneath homes and inside buildings filled with innocent residents.

Civilians of Gaza City, move south for your own and your families’ protection, and keep a safe distance from Hamas terrorists who are exploiting you as human shields, the IDF warned in a news release.

The IDF stated that it will continue to operate heavily in Gaza City and will make substantial efforts to avoid injuring civilians.

We do not want to target citizens since they are not our enemies. Conricus stated We are asking them to leave so that we are able to keep striking Hamas military targets in the Gaza Region.

Since Hamas launched its offensive on Israel on Saturday, more than 2,800 Israelis and Palestinians have been murdered, and at least 9,800 have been injured as of Thursday night. As Israeli soldiers apparently prepare for a ground assault on Gaza, the casualty toll is expected to grow.

Hundreds of thousands of Iraqis converged on Tahrir Square in Baghdad on Friday in one of the country’s largest pro-Palestinian rallies in many years, according to images broadcast on state-run television Al-Iraqiya.

The European Commission President, Ursula von der Leyen, and the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, arrived in Israel on Friday.

Von der Leyen posted on X, formerly Twitter, that she was in Israel to share our sympathy with the Israeli people in the aftermath of the awful Hamas terrorist attack.

Images on social media showed the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) dropping flyers from planes into Gaza, urging Palestinians to leave their homes and flee south.

You shouldn’t come back to residence until additional instructions from the IDF, the flyer stated.
