Hostage talks between Israel and Hamas were continuing on Wednesday, according to the Prime Minister’s Office, with the assistance of Israel National Security Advisor Tzachi Hanegbi. The release of hostages from Gaza will not be possible until Friday.

Both sides of the battle agreed this week to a brief ceasefire, which will go into effect on Thursday morning.

The cease-fire is for humanitarian reasons, including the freeing of hostages. The detainees were expected to be released on Thursday.

The ceasefire agreement, which is expected to go into effect at 10 a.m. local time on Thursday, was mediated by Qatari negotiators.

According to the terms of the agreement, Hamas has agreed to release scores of captives in exchange for Israel agreeing to release Palestinian inmates on a three-to-one basis.

According to Trey Yingst, Hamas commanders have promised to release one hostage for every three Palestinians released by Israel.

Brit Hume, Fox News’ chief political commentator, joins “Special Report” to discuss Israel and Hamas’ interim cease-fire and prisoner swap agreement.

Israel plans to exchange 150 Palestinian prisoners for 50 hostages held by Hamas in Gaza. Hume regarded the deal as “not good” from a military standpoint but added that Israel is infamous for striking unbalanced deals in order to free Israeli citizens taken hostage.

Israel has a long history of going to tremendous lengths to reclaim its abducted Israeli nationals, and they have struck far more uneven bargains in the past. So, this is what they do, and it is strongly ingrained in Israeli custom, Hume explained, later adding that dealing with this issue is really tough.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated late Wednesday that he promised US President Joe Biden that the conflict would resume whenever the cease-fire expired. Approximately 1,200 individuals have been killed in Israel; the majority of them were slain during Hamas’ initial incursion.

The Israel Defense Forces are urging Gaza City residents to take advantage of a “local tactical pause in military activity” and flee to the civilian zone south of Wadi Gaza.

The local humanitarian stop will take place between 10:00 and 14:00 in Khan Yunis’ al-Salam and al-Manara areas.

During a meeting with British Foreign Secretary David Cameron, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that he intends to get our hostages out.

Following Israeli officials’ announcement that no hostages would be freed until at least Friday, Netanyahu stated that the mission is not without its difficulties but that we have to and hope to get this first batch out.

Netanyahu underlined Israel’s resolve to get everybody out but vowed to keep fighting Hamas even if a prospective cease-fire is lifted.

We will proceed with our war objectives, particularly the annihilation of Hamas, because Hamas has already pledged to do so again and again. The prime minister described them as a genocidal terrorist cult.

Cameron is in Israel for the first time since being appointed to Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s government. On Thursday, he visited areas in southern Israel where the worst of Hamas’s Oct. 7 terrorist strikes occurred.
